Deborah and Greg Waddington, who own Cartridge Universe Nelson Tasman, have good reason to celebrate. The couple have been in business together for over 16 years now and coming up on July 1st, it has been a year since they rebranded. “We were Cartridge World for 15 years, but a year ago we changed our name to Cartridge Universe, so to celebrate, during July, we will be giving away an Overnight Dinner & Spa Package for 2 at Kimi Ora Eco Resort to one lucky customer and a Food & Beverage Voucher from Trailways Hotel Restaurant to one lucky business,” says Deborah. The Locally owned and operated team at Cartridge Universe is here to help with all your printing supplies. Deborah and Greg have been providing genuine brand and their own brand cartridges as well as refilling and refurbishing ink and toner/laser cartridges for over 16 years in Nelson and Tasman.

The local couple are experts in their field. “We have over 16 years’ experience in our industry,” says Greg. “We know the ins and outs of printers and cartridges, how they work and why they don’t work. There are a lot of compatible cartridges out there which have low quality ink and toner or the ink and toner in them is not suited for the printer, so they will damage your printer and give you poor printing results. Whereas our inks are specifically formulated to work correctly in your printer. We also provide a full guarantee with all our cartridges.”

Cartridge Universe Nelson Tasman has two local stores, one is located in Nelson on Vanguard Street, and their second store is situated on Queen Street. “Craig, who manages our Richmond Store, has been with us for over 13 years, so his knowledge is also huge.”

A family-oriented business
Cartridge Universe is a very family-oriented business. “Our son has recently finished working for us – he was our sales manager and has just left Nelson to follow his soccer career overseas. Our 17-year-old daughter Shakayla is working for us; she runs our Nelson store on a Friday and works there on other days of the week.” The couple’s 12-year-old daughter also helps out from time to time and their 6-year-old daughter is the ‘lolly tester’ making sure the lollies they give out are up to standard. “Craig is a long-time family friend since my childhood days, so he’s also like family to us.” Deborah and Greg are very community-minded too. Over the years they have supported lots of local netball and soccer teams through sponsorships, etc.

Unlike other retailers Cartridge Universe likes to spend time understanding your printing requirements and provide smarter, cost effective printing solutions. “We don’t just sell what we have on the shelf as often this isn’t the best solution for the customer, we enjoy dealing with people face-to-face, it’s about making sure we understand what there printing requirements are and what options they need or don’t need in this fast and ever-changing world of technology.” says Deborah. “And all of the advice we give is based on many years of experience.”
